MAXX B is wearable art. Non-binary adornments intended to fortify, embolden, and inspire.
MAXX B is a place that is only shown to me in moments divined by unknown power. I attempt to visit often; only when I succeed my stays are brief and I am reminded I was already there. It is familiar yet new. Bold yet delicate. Earthly yet astral. As at home in the muddied hands of a 13th century farmer’s child who found the treasure buried beside a brook as it is around the neck of the loftiest, most elegant musician of the modern age. Natural and ancient while fresh and contemporary, MAXX B is original.
MAXX B was founded and is run solely by Max Bubb. In 2018 Max first began learning the art of silver smithing at the Queensland College of Art. With a lifelong passion for art, craft, nature, beauty, and gemstones already instilled in him from a childhood in rural NW Tasmania/Lutruwita, surrounded by humble and innovative tinkerers and fossickers, Max quickly took to silver smithing and fell in love with jewellery and adornment. After some time, Max found his niche blending traditional silver smithing techniques with the rudimentary yet rich technique of cuttlefish casting. Each piece is entirely handmade, crafted with the utmost care and attention to detail using recycled and sustainably sourced materials. Max continues to hone his craft from his home studio in Meanjin/Brisbane.
